Small evergreen shrub with fine aromatic green foliage and hanging cup shaped flowers which are brownish purple to yellow-green outside and yellow-green inside. The flowers have a heady perfume and bloom in late winter to early spring. The evergreen foliage gives year round scent and the plants grow to approx 1 metre tall.
Cultivation
To successfully grow boronias in the garden, these shrubs do best in sheltered positions in sun or part shade in moist, well drained acid soil. Some will tolerate very light frosts. Tip prune after flowering to maintain a tidy habit and an application of slow release fertilizer will assist them to adapt to garden life.
