Description

Flaviramea is an excellent, deciduous, multi-stemmed shrub with showy yellow stems in winter followed by impressive green foliage. Produces small clusters of white flowers followed by fruit. At maturity, the dense thicket of slender stems grows to between 1.8 and 3 metres in height and equally as wide.

Cultivation

Plant in full sun to partial shade and appreciate a rich, fertile, well drained soil. They will however grow quite well in boggy ground. Prepare the growing site by digging over the soil and adding a good handful of blood and bone, rich compost or well decayed animal manure prior to planting out. Water in well at planting time and then on an occasional basis to promote growth. Each winter they may be cut back hard to almost ground level to encourage new growth. No particular pests or diseases.
